This year the Loch Lomond Run will be based at the Lagganbeg Caravan Park in Gartoharn on Loch Lomond Side (See http://www.lagganbeg.co.uk/ for more information),
Friday: Arrive at the campsite from 3pm. Bring your own food and bottles for the now legendary barbecue from 6:30pm.
Saturday: 10:30 start from the campsite. I have a wonderful scenic route planned through the local roads taking in a pub lunch before returning to Gartoharn for around 4pm for either a meal the Hungry Monk Pub or another barbecue at the campsite depending on the weather.
Sunday: 11am start from the campsite we shall head off on a short drive to a local beauty spot followed by a short walk and a pub lunch. From here people can make their way home.
Accommodation:
Camping: I have reserved our own private space for camping with 8 electric hook ups (these will be allocated to people on a first come first serve basis, so if you want one send your entry form off to me ASAP!) Important: You must book the camping through me, failure to do this may mean that you will not be camping anywhere near the rest of the group. The prices are, £17.50 for Caravan and Campervans, this includes electricity and tents are £6.00 per person. If there are children it is £2.50 for each child between the ages of 5-15. The campsite have asked for a deposit this year of one nights fee per booking, please send this along with your entry form. Direction to The campsite:
From Glasgow Follow the M8 Greenock/Glasgow Airport and take the M898 Erskine Bridge just after the Airport Travel over the bridge and take the A82 Crainlarich cut off, follow this dual carriageway, through Dumbarton and continue until you arrive a large roundabout - The Stonymollan. Turn to your right here and follow signs for Balloch, continue through on the A811 and will arrive at the village of Gartocharn, continue through the village for one mile and you will see the sign for the Caravan Park, on your Left, turn down this country road.
From Stirling Follow the A811 Loch Lomond travel through the villages of Arnprior and Buchlyvie continue along this road until you Arrive at a T-Junction, turn left, immediately you will come to a Y-Junction, turn right onto the A811 Drymen/ Erskine Bridge continue along this road, by- passing Drymen, you will pass over an old bridge and arrive at a T-Junction, turn right onto the A811 Loch Lomond/Balloch road, continue along this road for about four miles and you will see the sign for the Caravan Park, turn right down this country road and you will see Lagganbeg on your right hand side. (If you arrive at Gartocharn you have passed the sign by one mile).
